Club Origin
In August 2022, the JSU Swim Club was founded from blueprints by Perry Luzier, a freshman at the time of founding. Perry was a competitive swimmer that wanted to offer a swimming experience to other members of the JSU community, so he decided to start this club. The early beginnings of the program were characterized by logistics, but it was not long before the club started becoming active. Coached by legendary coach duo Robi and Tracy Champion, we obtained the necessary resources to begin operating practices on and off campus. We began practicing in October 2022 and officially launched as a swim program in January of 2023- when we hosted our first Intrasquad Competition. We would proceed to attend two away meets and have athletes qualify for the CCS National Championships. We continued to grow from there, providing a great member experience that was non other than incredible. After two more years, the club grew to over 30 members and is an award winning program. The club was considered "founded" at the end of December 2024, where it became an independent organization capable of thriving on its own.
